Throughout history and still today, people have tried to make a difference in the world around them through the use of violence and nonviolence. How can we promote peace in our communities and around the world?
Students were given a writer's notebook for the entirety of the second semester. This journal will be used to record grammar, vocabulary, and writing. This journal will be collected at random for a Habit of Mind grade. It is important that students learn to write using a variety of prompts. Likewise, tenth grade students should work on extending their sentences to form more detailed and complex sentences.
Project Three Vocabulary
For this project, students are preparing for the transition from 10th to 11th grade. Students will be responsible to understand 50 vocabulary words over the course of this project. One word a day will be reviewed in class. These words are to be studied, practiced, and assessed throughout the course of the project. Formally, students will be assessed on these fifty (50) vocabulary words at least three (3) times during the project. It is also encouraged that students use Quizlet for added practice and preparation.
